Impressions of the tests at jobsite on A111 near Berlin21st November 2011During a field test at a road construction jobsite on the A111 near Berlin, parts of the ASPHALT applications were tested. Very important hereby was the feedback from the construction workers and the applicability of the system. During the test, representatives from public agencies, stakeholders, and future customer were present and interested in the new technologies. Communication terminal between paver and trucks. Visualisation of the distance between them on the paver terminal. Used for the docking of trucks to the paver and for data transfer to a server. Trust is good, control is better. Manual measurement of the thickness of the asphalt layer during paving process. Paving process: Paver pushes the truck while truck loads the paver. During the paving process, the temperature is scanned and the thickness of the asphalt layer is measured automatically. Dashboard for system controllers at paver's cabin. Paving process with waiting trucks in front of the paver. Compaction Assistant helps roller operators to keep track of compacted lanes. Communication test: The measured thickness of the asphalt layer is transmitted via GPRS to the application server. By using e.g. a Smartphone, the information can be visualised on-site. Visualisation of the measurements (thermal profile) performed by the temperature scanner. Visualisation of Compaction Assistant showing passes and degree of compaction. Truck terminal and temperature readings of transported material. Fleet data server – web interface for truck material temperatures. |
